Portfolio > Sculpture and relief

Equally shelter and storm, the formal structure of Storm Shelter is based on a bungalow designed by modernist architect Rudolph Schindler. Made from oil and acrylic paint on joined canvases, cast toy animals flow up the "Ark's" ramp and merge into a tornado spiraling beneath a placid flat roof. Part encrusted skeeball game and makeshift homeless shelter, Storm Shelter was featured in "LA: Post-Cool" curated by Michael Duncan at the San Jose Museum of Art.

Palette is a relief composed entirely of acrylic paint molds with newsprint stuffing.
